The Costa Quebrada is one of the most spectacular and geologically significant coastlines in the world. You will be amazed at the enormous 100 million year old rocks emerging from the sea, the impressive cliffs, the multitude of water sports you can do, and more.
Santander
La Joyuca is only about 15 minutes by car from Santander and 20 minutes by FEVE train – with the FEVE station just across from the hotel. We are only 3 minutes from the A67, the main autovia that takes you east and west to see the towns along the Costa Quebrada, its landmarks and its beaches.
Santander has so much to offer in terms of museums, restaurants, the light house, the Magdalena Palace, and of course Sardinero beaches. Close to the hotel you have the option of doing a boat tour of the coast, horseback riding, scuba diving, or learning to surf.
Natural wonders
You don’t have to drive far from the coast to visit historically significant caves like Altamira and Cuevas de Soplao or the Redwood forest in Cabezon de la Sal. The Parque Nacional Picos de Europa are only about an hour away with their spectacular views and charm of the mountain villages like Potes or enjoy the cable car at Fuente Dé. Last but not least, for animal lovers, Cabarceno is only about 30 minutes by car.

If you’re tired after a long day of sightseeing, we also have many great restaurants within 10 minutes of the hotel and are happy to make recommendations and reservations for you. You don’t have to go to Santander to eat well when you stay at La Joyuca. Some recommended options: La Antigua , Le Hórreo, El Nuevo Molino, La Puentecilla, Restaurante Avrile, La Estación, Chiringuito de Cuchía.

All our double and deluxe rooms have queen size beds and more space for your luggage and clothes. Some of these rooms have updated bathrooms, garden views, skylights, or full-size bathtubs. The deluxe rooms have hydromassage tubs. Each room is unique and has its own unique charm and characteristics.
